Comparison of Genomic Signatures

Genomic signature refers to the characteristic frequency of oligonucleotides in a genome or sequence. Oligonucleotide composition is similar for phylogenetically related organisms.

This website was developed to show that genomic signatures can be used to cluster genomes from related organism, and to show the potential of this methodology in epidemiology.

The tools available on this site allow users to search for the genomic signatures of completely-sequenced prokaryotic genomes and draft genomes and to compare them to users' sequences.'

In case you want to work with your own sequences, you must create a personal account.
